Micro-mobility, made up of scooters, scooters, bicycles, is also beginning to be part of the corporate mobility scenarios, despite the fact that the approach of fleet and mobility managers towards these vehicles is still cautious, due to the absence of more stringent regulations that guarantees safer circulation on the roads. However, as emerges from the new Top Thousand research, “Does micro-mobility enter the company?”, The road has been traced: companies show a growing interest in this novelty, as do their employees and private citizens.
10% of companies already in sustainable micro-mobility
According to the study, just 10% of the companies surveyed have already adopted micro-mobility solutions (bicycles / e-bikes, scooters, microcars, scooters / e-scooters): a still low share, but it should be noted that the percentage rises if only the part of the sample that operates and moves around city centers is considered.
Furthermore, almost 25% of fleet managers say they are open to the introduction of these vehicles in their fleet and 15% of those who have not yet embraced micro-mobility openly declare their intention to adopt these eco- solutions.
Among the companies that have already begun to adopt micro-mobility, electric bikes and scooters are the means they have preferred (both reaching a share of 25%). Traditional bicycles and scooters follow (18% and 17% respectively), while the share of electric scooters and microcars is smaller (8% and 7%). The predilection of fleet managers for e-bikes and scooters, according to the research, finds reason in the fact that these vehicles allow you to easily cover longer journeys, while also adapting perfectly to the home-work journey.
33% of companies that intend to introduce micro-mobility in the coming months say they are ready to choose them for their employees and their preference is for bikes and scooters.
Purchase is for the moment the preferred method
Buying remains the preferred way for companies to get hold of these vehicles, followed by rental and sharing. However, the scenario is very fluid: in fact, the micro-mobility solutions offered by renters are increasing.
